A delegation from the Ministry of Labor and representatives from Colombia’s employers and workers travelled to Brazil to understand how the Brazilian Tripartite Commission for International Relations worked and operated to explore a possibility to create their own in Colombia. This visit gave Colombia a direct opportunity to learn about the normal procedures of the Commission, as well as understand the rules, norms, and requirements for the normal functioning of the Commission. The visit included direct participation from the Colombian delegation in the preparatory meetings in the commission and the possibility of interacting with all its members, government, businessmen, and central syndicates.
As a result of the visit, Colombia constituted their own Tripartite International Relations Subcomission and elaborated a base rulebook with the lessons learned and the Brazilian experience.
