Evaluation and Certification of Labor Competencies

Three experts from the Ministry of Labor of Peru visited Ecuador with the objective of transferring methodologies, performance frameworks (marcos de actuación) and obtained experiences in the area of standardization, evaluation and certification of labor competencies.
 
The highlight of this cooperation activity was that during the visit, the experts provided training not only to officers from the Ministry of Labor (MRL) of Ecuador, but also to members of the Ecuadorian Certification Organism (OAE). The participants expressed that this technical assistance was a success, and furthermore, that it had taken place in the appropriate moment, given that the MRL is interested in developing a model of certification of competencies, specially in occupations such as plumbing and carpentry, among others. 
 
Based on the lessons leant from the Peruvian experience, as well as other technical assistances, the MRL is  planning on developing a methodology that meets the needs of Ecuador, guaranteeing the impartiality and quality for the certification of labor competencies.
