The antecedent to the Portal is the Chambanet and Chambatel electronic job bank (2002-2007), receiving the INNOVA and Public Administration Quality and Innovation (2002) awards, and earning the certificate of recognition of the World Association of Public Employment Services (WAPES) in 2004, as well as the ‘Best Practices in ICTs’ distinction from the Institute for Connectivity in the Americas (2005).

According to the study ‘Online Job Search’ (2013) by the Mexican Internet Association (AMIPCI), the Portal ranked 3rd in efficacy.
LESSONS LEARNED:

The Employment Portal has contributed to the consolidation of the National Employment Service (SNE) as a modern, dynamic and relevant tool to face labor market challenges.

The new services have transformed the traditional notion of the bureaucratic office into a concept of immediate service, free of unnecessary procedures, and supported by ICTs.

Since the Portal began operating, the STPS carries out the ‘Survey on Employment Portal Efficacy,’ in order to learn about users’ employment rate. The survey’s done over the phone to a nationally representative sample of users, and includes indicators of service quality, accessibility and usability, information clarity and reliability, portal design, etc.
