Tomás Rau Binder

Mr. Tomás Rau Binder took office as Minister of Labor and Social Welfare of Chile on March 11. A commercial engineer, he holds a master's degree in Economics from the University of Chile, as well as a Ph.D. in Economics and a Master's in Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley. His work has focused on labor economics, gender gaps, and public policy evaluation. He has also collaborated with international organizations and public institutions in the design of key reforms, including labor policies during the COVID-19 crisis, and has participated in various expert commissions on wage and regulatory matters.
