Achievements In the professional training of the economically active population of the country the following results were obtained: • In 2004, 47,029 participants were trained, and 85.1 % fulfilled the expected goals. • In the first semester of 2005, 23,558 participants were trained, which represents a 38% of the goals fulfilled. • The professional training program has significant technical and financial support from the Government of Japan obtaining since 1994 an investment of approximately USD $8 million in technical and financial support for equipment. • The program has the support of Worldteach of Harvard University, Massachusetts, United States, which facilitates the participation of professional volunteers to teaching English. • It maintains agreements with SENA of Colombia and public and private institutions of the country.
