Description:

Three officials from the Ministries of Labor of Bolivia visited the Ministry of Labor of Chile where they received information regarding the implemented planning system in the Chilean public administration; including the follow-up systems, evaluation and incentives that apply to the programming and management of the Ministry. Also, they were introduced to the information system of the Chilean Ministry that allows monitoring the behavior of the labor market and received assistance about the construction of decent work indicators and alignments of active employment policies.

The participants stated hat the information and concepts learned will be important inputs to continue the process of implementation of an integral planning system within the Ministry of Labor of Bolivia.  Among the lessons learned from the experience, the officials highlighted that planning requires incorporating a system for monitoring and evaluation that contains motivations and sanctions; they also highlighted that these planning processes must be efforts not only from the Ministries but also from the State, since they require the implementation of methodologies that have a technical and economic support.
