Each year, the Government of Canada invests more than $330 million in the Youth Employment Strategy (YES), to provide training and employment services so that young people can gain the skills, abilities and work experience needed to get a strong start in their careers. Through Budget 2018, the Government proposed to provide an additional $448.5 million over five years starting in 2018–19 for the YES. This funding Will support additional summer placements in 2019 and over the following years, will provide resources to implement a modernized YES.

Objectives:

YES helps youth between the ages of 15 and 30 get the information and gain the skills, job experience and abilities they need to make a successful transition to the workforce.
