A team from Ecuador’s Ministry of Labor travelled to Panama to learn about their work modalities and their programs on Child Labor Eradication (CLE). This trip consisted of an ons-site visit to the Acuatupu community, as well as work sessions and presentations about the work code, requirements for hiring, sanctions, inspection procedures, and data collection.
The cooperation focused on the process of sectorial articulation, from the Ministry of Labor, with multiple public and private organizations that are relevant for the operation of CLE public policy. They also transferred and shared the follow-up methodology of the activities that they organize in their respective child processes that are going through the eradication of child labor.
As a result of this activity, countries agreed to strengthen their technical teams to improve the levels of management, increase public policy knowledge of CLE, and also opened institutional spaces for exchange and socialization of experiences, management models, and methodology enrichment from Ecuador to the Panamanian Technical Team.
