Description:

During this activity, a delegation composed of three officials from the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security of Argentina visited the Ministry of Labor and Advanced Education of Nova Scotia to receive technical information in the area of “Public Employment Services - Links with local businesses and the older population.”

The on-site visit included the presentation of information on the local perspective with regard to labor market intermediation and new initiatives, presentations on employment pillars of Nova Scotia’s economic development strategy, and field trips.

Among the lessons learned, the visiting team identified three main lines of work to follow in their country: linking with employers, developing an Electronic Labor Mediation Platform, and public-private partnerships. Delegates also noted that the experience gained in this visit successfully met the objectives, providing tools and materials necessary to strengthen labor administration in Argentina.
