The Bilateral Cooperation Activity between the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Welfare (MTEPS) of Bolivia and the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development (MITRADEL) of Panama on the economic empowerment of women through cooperatives was selected within the framework of the fifteenth Call of the OAS Inter-American Network for Labor Administration (RIAL) in March 2022, to be carried out virtually.
The RIAL, coordinated by the OAS, seeks to strengthen the human and institutional capacities of the Ministries of Labor of the Americas through cooperation and technical assistance between them. More information at www.rialnet.org.
OBJECTIVES AND PRODUCT
General objective: Strengthen, encourage and promote the constitution of cooperatives as an alternative to improve employment conditions and sustainable self-employment for women in various areas.
Specific objectives:
1. Transmit experiences to new productive cooperative ventures and provide basic elements and strategies to guarantee and give sustainability to their cooperative ventures in full adherence to the values and principles of cooperatives.
2. Generate technical assistance for cooperative management and administration, through training.
Product: As a result of the cooperation, the Bolivian MTEPS prepared a proposal for a "Technical Assistance Program to Support Women's Productive Cooperatives."
